Dust is the main villain to look out for. Ensure periodic cleaning using wet or dry cloth to prevent dust accumulation. Wipe the stone areas gently, with care. If ever any stone comes out, it can be easily stuck back using fevibond/fevicol.
Also, if you intend to remove the plastic lamination cover on the idol, do it slowly. Follow these simple steps so that the color of the idol wont fade and idol itself will stay intact for a long period of time.
